Phototropism, or the instinct for light

Even in the deepest shade, a plant never gives up. It stretches, twists and tirelessly seeks the faintest ray of light. This is phototropism: a fierce determination to turn towards what nourishes it. It doesn’t complain about the darkness; it looks for a way out. It wastes no time cursing the shade; it puts all its energy into changing its angle.

Perhaps, like the plant, we should stop staring at our shadows and turn our faces towards what lights us up.
