Graphic Green: a round-leaved Pilea, a polka-dot Begonia and a white-veined Fittonia in a 22 cm teal-blue pot.
Graphic Green plays with shapes: the coin-like round leaves of Pilea peperomioides, the long white-spotted leaves of Begonia maculata and the small veined foliage of Fittonia. Three very different patterns, brought together in a teal-blue glazed ceramic pot, for an arrangement that draws the eye on a console or desk.
| Plant | Its role in the arrangement |
|---|---|
| Pilea peperomioides | round leaves, the silhouette |
| Begonia maculata (or a spotted-leaf variety) | white polka-dot leaves, the contrast |
| Fittonia albivenis | patterned veins, the foreground |
Handmade teal-blue glazed ceramic, 22 cm in diameter (size L).
Begonia is toxic to cats and dogs; Pilea and Fittonia are safe. Keep the arrangement out of pets' reach.
The Fittonia is drooping — is that serious?
No: it's its way of saying it's thirsty. Water it and it will perk up within a few hours.
