Signature Potting Mix is our house repotting mix. We replaced peat with plant compost and vermicompost, and lightened it with fibres and minerals so the roots can breathe.
What it does
- A potting mix that feeds: compost and vermicompost nourish the plant and the life in the soil.
- The balance between water and air, thanks to coco coir and chips, perlite, vermiculite, pine bark, clay pebbles and pozzolana.
- Plant-based charcoal, for the structure of the mix.
- Peat-free: a resource we prefer to protect.
Which plants
Houseplants: Monstera, Philodendron, Ficus, Pothos, Calathea, Alocasia, Spathiphyllum… For cacti and succulents, choose our
cactus and succulent mix; for orchids, our
orchid mix.
How to use it
- Choose a pot with a drainage hole, 2 to 4 cm wider than the old one.
- Check the roots: trim any that are brown and soft.
- Fill in around the root ball by tapping the pot, without pressing down.
- Water thoroughly once, then empty the saucer.
- Wait a few weeks before adding fertiliser: the potting mix already contains nutrients.
Which size should I choose?
The 2 L bag fills a pot of about 15 cm. The 5 L bag fills a 21 cm pot or several small pots, and works out cheaper per litre. The "How much do I need?" calculator above works it out for your pots. You can also leave the
repotting to our studio.
Frequently asked questions
Why peat-free?
Peat comes from peat bogs, habitats that store enormous amounts of carbon. We prefer compost, which feeds the potting mix instead of simply filling it.
Should I add perlite?
No, it's ready to use. For a plant that likes very free-draining soil, you can add a little
perlite.
