Very light white granules to mix into potting soil to aerate and drain it: roots can breathe and water no longer sits. In 1 L, 2 L or 5 L bags.
The 5 L works out at 14 DH per litre, instead of 20 DH in 1 L: a 30% saving.

Description
Horticultural perlite is volcanic rock heated until it puffs up. What remains is a light, porous white granule that creates air in the potting mix. It doesn't feed the plant, doesn't break down and lasts for years: it is a structural soil improver.
What it does
- Air around the roots: the potting mix no longer compacts.
- Faster drainage: excess water runs off, which helps prevent root rot.
- Cuttings that root better, in a light mix that is moist without being waterlogged.
How to use it
Mix it into the potting soil before repotting. A few starting points:- Foliage and tropical plants: about 1 part perlite to 4 parts potting mix.
- Cacti and succulents: about one third perlite, with pozzolana.
- Cuttings and seedlings: half perlite, half vermiculite or potting mix.
Which size should I choose?
The 1 L bag is enough to improve two or three medium pots. The 2 L bag covers a larger repotting session, and the 5 L bag works out cheaper per litre if you have lots of plants. The "How much do I need?" calculator above works it out for your pots.Frequently asked questions
Perlite or vermiculite? Perlite aerates and drains; vermiculite holds water. For seedlings and cuttings they are often combined: our perlite and vermiculite mix brings the two together. Perlite or pozzolana? Both drain. Perlite is very light; pozzolana is heavier, steadies large pots and suits cacti better. Packed at our Rabat studio.
