The 5 L works out at 20 DH per litre, instead of 35 DH in 1 L: a 43% saving.

Description
Vermiculite is a natural mineral from the mica family. Heated to a very high temperature, it opens up into fine, light, spongy golden flakes. It absorbs water, holds it, then slowly releases it to the roots.
What it does
- Steady moisture, without waterlogging the mix.
- A lighter, airier mix.
- A good start for seedlings and cuttings, which must never dry out.
How to use it
- Seedlings and cuttings: half vermiculite, half potting mix. For seeds, a thin layer is enough to cover them.
- Tropical plants (Calathea, Maranta, ferns): about 1 part to 6 or 7 parts potting mix.
- Cacti and succulents: avoid it, as it holds too much water. Choose pozzolana or perlite instead.
Which size should I choose?
The 1 L bag is enough for a season of seedlings or a few cuttings. The 2 L and 5 L bags suit repotting several tropical plants; the 5 L works out cheaper per litre.Frequently asked questions
Vermiculite or perlite? Vermiculite holds water; perlite aerates and drains. They complement each other — that's the idea behind our perlite and vermiculite mix. Does it need replacing? Over time it compacts a little. Renew the potting mix every time you repot. Packed at our Rabat studio.
