Description
Alocasia wentii unfurls large oval to slightly heart-shaped leaves, glossy dark green on top and evenly purple underneath. Carried on long green stems, they bring an instant jungle feel. It's one of the easiest Alocasias: more tolerant, it grows quickly when it has warmth and light.

Where to place it
In a bright, warm room — a living room or a bathroom with a window. It likes dappled light and humidity; avoid direct sun and draughts.
Caring for your Alocasia wentii
- Water when the top few centimetres of soil are dry; keep the soil moist, never soggy.
- Raise the humidity around it with a fine-mist spray bottle or a tray of damp pebbles.
- An old leaf yellowing as a new one emerges is normal: cut it off at the base.
- Feed it every two weeks in spring and summer.
The right potting mix
The mix named after it: our Alocasia and tropical plant mix was designed for Alocasias — airy yet moisture-retentive.
Mistakes to avoid
- Heavy watering in winter: it goes dormant and rots easily.
- Cold below 15 °C.
- A dense potting soil that holds water.
Frequently asked questions
It's losing its leaves in winter — is it dead?
Not necessarily. Some Alocasias slow down or lose leaves in winter. Water less and keep it warm: it will regrow from its bulb in spring.
Is the pot included?
It comes in its nursery pot, which slips into one of our handmade planters.
Every plant is chosen and checked at the studio before it leaves. Delivery anywhere in Morocco, or collection from our studio in Rabat. A plant that arrives damaged will be exchanged: let us know within 48 hours with a photo.
