Description
Monstera deliciosa is the most recognisable tropical plant: large, glossy dark green leaves that split and develop holes as the plant matures. This XL size is already a mature plant with well-opened leaves. It dresses a living room, a bright entrance or an office without years of waiting.

Where to place it
One or two metres from a bright window, away from the midday sun that burns the leaves. The more light it gets, the more its leaves split. In a dark corner it survives but makes small, uncut leaves. Give it room: its leaves spread nearly a metre wide.
Caring for your Monstera deliciosa
- Water when the top 3 to 4 centimetres of soil are dry, then empty the saucer.
- Dust the leaves with a damp cloth or cleaning gloves: a clean leaf captures more light.
- Its aerial roots are looking for support: guide them towards a pole or into the soil — don't cut them off.
- Feed it every two to three weeks in spring and summer with root feed for foliage plants.
The right potting mix
An airy mix that holds a little moisture, such as our Alocasia and tropical plant mix. For a plant this size, repot every two to three years in spring, into a pot a few centimetres wider.
Mistakes to avoid
- Overwatering in winter: leaves yellow from the bottom and roots rot.
- Placing it in full sun behind glass: dry brown patches on the leaves.
- Moving it often: it orients itself towards the light and doesn't like being constantly turned.
Frequently asked questions
Why aren't its leaves split?
Young leaves start out whole. With light and age, new leaves split and develop more holes.
The leaves are dripping water — is that serious?
No: it's guttation, a sign the potting mix is very moist. Water a little less often.
Every plant is chosen and checked at the studio before it leaves. Delivery anywhere in Morocco, or collection from our studio in Rabat. A plant that arrives damaged will be exchanged: let us know within 48 hours with a photo.
